Alia Marquardt
Samoa entry — 2026 Oceania Beach Sprint Championships · Women's U19 · Sculling & Beach Sprint · Potomac Boat Club (Washington, D.C.)
Samoa's flag on the blade — USRowing Club National Championships, 2026
World Rowing has confirmed Samoa's participation at the 2026 Oceania Beach Sprint Championships (North Kirra Beach, Gold Coast, September 2026), with an entry of one athlete and one coach. Alia is the entered athlete, and is invited to the World Rowing Oceania development camp that precedes it.
Alia is a lightweight sculler racing Beach Sprint through World Rowing's Oceania coastal programme. A four-season athlete, she rows the scholastic spring season with Deerfield Academy — where she also runs varsity cross-country and swims varsity — and races the summer club circuit for Potomac Boat Club (Washington, D.C.), where she is coached by Carol Dinion and Matt Madigan. She carries her Samoan line through her father's family to the village of Malie, Upolu.
Alia is coached at the 2026 Oceania programme by her father, Daniel Marquardt, the Association's Acting President. Selection and oversight provisions are on the Governance page.
